Eliane’s inspiration to become an artist began with the drawings of her daughter. At the age of 8, Rachel drew to pass the time during her many medical appointments in 1992.
One drawing was of three flowers – one purple, one yellow and one red with green steems. To the top right was a bright yellow sun. Eliane painted Rachel’s masterpiece. The painting became the logo for the Rachel Molly Markoff Foundation established by Eliane and her husband, Gary. Painting Rachel’s drawing sparked Eliane’s artistic talent.
Initially, she focused on watercolors of flowers and landscapes, and then, as her artistry intensified, she moved on the oils.
Eliane developed her unique artistic style that can best be described as a combination of impressionism and modernism. Eliane is a member of the SOWA Guild of Boston.
